To celebrate The Simbsons’ 500th episode on Feb 19, the show’s first arcade outing is getting a much-anticipated revival on current gen consoles. The Simpsons Arcade game, which first debuted on the arcades two decades ago, has been made available on Xbox Live, to be followed by the PSN version on February 7 (est at $9.99, rated for ages 10-up).
The game still features the trademark 1-4 player co-op, but now players can compete either locally or through online. There’s also a one-life Survival mode and a never-before-seen Japanese version of the game. The suite also includes classic flyers, posters, and a character guide.
The 500th episode, on the other hand, will feature a guest voice gig by WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, who will play himself as he becomes Homer and Marge’s new neighbor after the Simpsons are kicked out of town by the angry residents of Springfield.
