NBC has finally confirmed that they have ordered a pilot for the previously rumore-then-confirmed Constantine TV show. It is said that the show will follow the Hellblazer comic book instead of the much-maligned (but actually pretty decent) Keannu Reaves film.
The pilot was written by Daniel Cerone and David S. Goyer, with the latter continuing his history of adapting DC characters for Warner Bros. It was originally thought that Constantine will be part of Guillermo Del Toro’s Justice League Dark project, and while this does make it possible that Constantine will be left out, there’s really no reason why a crossover isn’t possible. In fact, the TV pilot’s success could actually be the thing that will finally convince Warner top brass that there’s a market for a JL Dark film.
