Fresh off his Walking Dead gig, Michael Rooker has just signed on to join the ever-growing cast list of Marvel’s big screen adaptation of Guardians of the Galaxy, with the veteran actor being given the role of Yondu.
Yondu is a blue-skinned humanoid from the tribe of Zatoa. The former game hunter Yondu finds himself being forced by circumstances to join forces with the rest of the Guardians in order to protect his home planet.
Rooker’s casting isn’t a surprise, as has already worked well with director James Gunn on movies such as Slither and Super. The actor will be joining a roster of actors that already includes Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, and Dave Batista. The roles of Groot and Rocket Raccoon are still unfilled.
