It was already announced last month that the G4 Network will be rebranding in order to cater to an older, GQ reading demographic, so the writing is already on the wall. Kotaku recently reported a shake-up that will end the life of long-running videogame-related shows such as X-Play and Attack of the Show.
The report was further corroborated by tweets from Attack of the Show talents such as Candace Bailey and other insiders. TV Guide also chimes in and puts both Attack of the Show and X-Play as wrapping up their respective productions by the end of this year. The shows will be airing episodes through December by rotating guest hosts as they build to their respective finales.
The loss of the two shows is perhaps already expected by many former Tech TV fans, since the two shows are considered as the last remaining traces of Ziff Davis’ original tech-oriented channel, before it was rebranded into G4.
