It seems like ever since Man of Steel was announced, every single actor who is bald has suddenly become the subject of rumors regarding being cast as Lex Luthor. Previously, Mark Strong has responded to the rumors with a very coy yet inconclusive statement. This time, it’s Breaking Bad’s Bryan Cranston, whose statement somewhat denies the rumors, but leaves things open and expresses his willingness. His answer was basically “give me a call.”
“I like Lex Luthor,” continues Cranston. “I think he’s misunderstood. He’s a loveable, sweet man.”
However, there is one minor yet important hurdle: Cranston isn’t too keen on being bald again (which is a look that he only adopted for his role in Breaking Bad.) Apparently, Cranston’s wife hated the bald look.
“She wasn’t so keen on the bald head,” Cranston admits. “The bald head ages a man. It’s just that she didn’t know me that way.”
“The last six years it’s all of a sudden like sleeping with a stranger — who was less exciting than her own husband. So I don’t blame her for being upset.”
