According to a recent post from Collider.com, fans of Bran and Hodor may find the next season of Game of Thrones a little bit lacking, as the two characters will be sidelined for the entire run of the season. The news was broken by Isaac Hempstead-Wright, who plays Bran.
“We have a season off and we have a year’s hiatus, solely because I imagine our storyline is up to the end of the books,” says the young actor. The last season did point towards the series finally reaching the end of the published books, as showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss jumped dramatically forward through the source material.
Additionally, the duo announced that they are planning to wrap up the TV show after seven seasons, regardless of whether George R.R. Martin has finished the books, which could mean that there is major progress due to occur in the various storyline threads running in the show, and since Bran and Hodor’s are the most advanced, it makes sense that it’s the one that’s been sidelined or now.
