According to a recent tweet by Arrow star Stephen Amell, The CW has just picked up the action-drama series Arrow for a full run: “Best way to start a Monday? Getting picked up for your back nine episodes. Thwick,” Arrow star Stephen Amell announced via Twitter.
Regarding Arrow’s official numbers, The Hollywood Reporter says that when the drama launched in October, away from the clutter of the typical September Premiere Week, it managed a strong 1.3 rating in the advertiser-coveted adults 18-49 demographic and 4.14 million viewers.
Arrow is based on DC Comics’ Green Arrow, albeit loosely. The series follows billionaire playboy Oliver Queen, who returns home to fight crime and corruption as the vigilante “Arrow” after being stranded on a desert island for five years. Much like Smallville, the series will feature reimaginings of famous DC Comics characters.
Arrow currently airs on the CW every Wednesdays at 8PM.
