X-Men: Apocalypse Will Be Set a Decade After Days of Future Past 0

Simon Kinberg has recently revealed that the sequel to Days of Future Past, dubbed X-Men:Apocalypse, will be set in the year 1983, a full ten years after the events in the previous movie (well, the events that aren’t from the parallel future.) The hefty time skip should give the writers enough room to re-envision the SPOILER ALERT newly retconned universe that the heroes will be inhabiting.

It also means that Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy will have to be aged up a little bit, as it’s very unlikely that they’ll be replaced given that they are fan favorites, though they can’t look the same as Apocalypse will have happened some 20 years after they first appeared in First Class.
