World War Z recently proved that a troubled production does not necessarily signify the doom of a project, as the Brad Pitt-starrer eventually brought home an impressive $536 million worldwide haul. Given that the subject of zombies are still hot (Walking Dead’s return is only a month or so away) and its impressive haul, it’s not surprising that there are talks of a sequel, with Brad Pitt himself confirming that talks are ongoing.
“We’re certainly talking about it, yeah,” says Pitt of a potential sequel. “We have so many ideas on the table from just the time we spent developing this thing and figuring out how zombie worlds work.”
“We have so many ideas and so much information, we think we have a lot of stuff to mine from. We’re going to do our best and see what we get out of it. We gotta get the script right first to determine if we go further.”
Co-star Mireille Enos has expressed her willingness to return as well:
“We’ll wait and see how the script turns out,” said Enos, “but yes, I’d love to come back.”
