Now that the role of Star-Lord has been attached to Chris Pratt, James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy movie adaptation seems to be gaining some steam and it can only move forward from here. Unfortunately, many fans are still wondering about the comic book’s other characters, particularly the more “colorful” ones such as Rocket Racoon and Groot.
The last bit of casting news we’ve heard is that Jim Carrey and Adam Sandler are both being considered for the roles, but nothing solid has come out of the talks. Guardians of the Galaxy’s producer, Victoria Alonso, has recently provided a little bit more info on what fans can expect from the movie:
“You can’t do any motion capture with a raccoon,” jokes Alonso. “They won’t let you put the suit on! But we will do rotomation, probably, for some of the behaviour. Rocket will have his own personality, of course.”
“Clearly we can’t do mo-cap on a tree,” she continues, “but we definitely will have performers to emulate what James Gunn will lead to be the behaviour and the performance. He’s very clear on where he wants to take the characters.”
