New Line Cinema is set to reboot the iconic film Vacation, which originally starred Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo. The Horrible Bosses writing duo John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein are attached to the film as directors, which means the Horrible Bosses sequel may experience some delays (if it’s not been put on indefinite hold).
The script for the Vacation Reboot is based on a script that Daley and Goldstein pitched back in 2009, and will have a new generation of Griswolds as protagonists. The original Vacation film had the Griswold family’s holiday trip spiraling out of control as they go from camel riding to evading S.W.A.T teams. It then went on to spawn three sequels: European Vacation, Christmas Vacation and Vegas Vacation.
There’s no news yet on whether Chase or D’Angelo will reprise their roles in cameo form to pass the Vacation torch over to the new generation of Griswolds.
