It’s pretty much common knowledge nowadays: Tom Cruise is crazy.
We don’t mean crazy within the context of doing outrageous skateboard grinds on staircase rails or even crazy in the sense that he spouts subversive jokes during unexpected moments–he’s just plain crazy, in the sense that his brain doesn’t seem to function like a sane person’s does.
But another thing that you can’t deny about Tom Cruise is that the man can act. He’s not a no-talent douchebag who gets by on good looks alone like Ashton Kutcher-Tom Cruise is a very talented douchebag who gets by on his talent and good looks. And really, if you take away all the crap about religion and alternative lifestyles, Tom Cruise is a bankable and watchable Hollywood actor.
In Adam Shankman’s Rock of Ages, we may get a nice (if somewhat short and too late) reminder of Cruise’s merits as an actor, as he plays the part of hair metal rock icon, Stacee Jaxx.
Whether belting his way through Bon Jovi’s Wanted Dead or Alive or snapping at the lack of respect his pet monkey gets, Tom Cruise has got the cocky, prima donna megarockstar act down.
Rock of Ages also features Alec Baldwin, Russell Brand, Malin Akerman, Bryan Cranston and Catherine Zeta Jones, with hits from the likes of Journey, Foreigner and Whitesnake, Rock Of Ages opens in the UK on 15 June 2012.
