Ubisoft is not putting all of its eggs in one basket. Aside from Assassin’s Creed (which is going to star current Mightygeek Man-Candy Michael Fassbender), they are also planning to adapt the hit spy game Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell to the big screen. Similar to their approach with Assassin’s Creed, a big name Hollywood star has already been attached in the early stages. This time it’s Tom Hardy (The Dark Knight Rises), who is lined up to play the lead stealth guy Sam Fisher.
The Splinter Cell movie will be written by The International’s Eric Warren Singer, but no director or studio has been named yet. We’re bound to know more details once Ubisoft decides to fast track its production, similar to what they did with Assassin’s Creed. One just has to wonder if they are capable of devoting as much resources on two films at the same time. So which one are you rooting for, Assassin’s Creed with Magneto, or Splinter Cell with Bane?
