Marvel’s always been secretive about the villains of its movies, and Thor: The Dark World is doubly so, probably because the movie has had issues with the casting of its villain as of late, as Mads Mikkelsen has dropped out of the role of the penultimate antagonist. Fortunately for us, it seems a stuntman from the movie managed to reveal a few hints about the identity of the movie’s villain.
In a recent iReviewToo feature on Thor 2, a stuntman was quoted about his experiences, revealing that “the director came in and he said, ‘Look, we want you all to be elves… I want you to walk around like these supernatural animals.'”
Unless Thor: The Dark World features the Asgardians invading Middle Earth, the elves probably refer to the Dark Elves from Svartalfheim, which is ruled by a villain named Malekith the Accursed.
Of course, we already know that Tom Hiddleston will be returning as Loki, so the Dark Elves will probably serve as the secondary villains, with Malekith being the role that Mads Mikkelsen abandoned.
Directed by Alan Taylor, Thor: The Dark World opens in the UK on 8 November 2013.
