We’re going to step away from all the discussions about Keannu Reeves being so kind and generous and gentle (even though we would like to add our confirmation that it is true, Mr. Reeves is really a stand-up guy), because there’s something more important to post about: the new teaser trailer for 47 Ronin.
For those not in the know, 47 Ronin stars Keanu Reeves as a swordsman named Kai, and it is scheduled for a December 25, 2013 release on the US (the Japanese will get to see it first as it arrives on their theatres on December 6). According to previous reports, 47 Ronin is loosely based on the story of 47 masterless samurai who were famous in 18th century Japan. The term “loosely” is very apt in this case, as the trailer shows an 18th century Japan that might not be historically accurate, unless 18th century Japan is some kind of magical fantasy land where people can shoot fire out of their hands and bald dudes can move in superhuman speeds.
