Leonardo has been trying to get a new Twilight Zone movie out of development limbo for years now, only for a string of directors to drop out of the production since its development back in 2007, with the script seeing several rewrites all throughout the years. Currently, it seems like they have settled on a script, as the first hints of the movie’s plot has been released online, featuring a time travel aspect:
“a test pilot who winds up breaking the speed of light; when he puts down his craft, he discovers that he’s landed a bit late for supper – 96 years late.”
It’s not a lot of info, but it’s enough to know that the movie at least follows through with the TV series’ two favourite themes (space and time travel). Warner Bros is currently looking for a new director to helm the project, and DiCaprio has not yet given up, so we may still get the chance to see the finished film in our lifetime.
