Collider has just reported that when Matthew Vaughn was being considered as the helmer for the next installment of the Star Wars movie franchise, he pitched Chloe Grace Moretz to the studio as the leading lady he had in mind for the project. But now that it’s J.J. Abrams on the steering wheel, things could change depending on whether the decision to have a female protagonist was Vaughn’s or the studio’s.
J.J. Abrams has not given anything away in his recent interview with E! Online, probably because there’s nothing to give away at this point:
“It really is an incredible thing,” said the director. “Even more so, it’s wildly surreal. It’s obviously way too early to talk specifics, but I’m excited to actually start it.”
Another good news is that LucasFilm has revealed that they have stopped plans to release new 3D treatments of the prequels. They originally planned to re-release the entire prequel trilogy with 3D enhancements, but have shelved the plans so that they can focus on the new film.
