For the latest installment of “Bryan Singer Tweets Images from the Set of X-Men: Days of Future Past,” we get a glimpse of the kind of special effects they will use in order to bring Quicksilver (played by Evan Peters) to life. Or at least, the really fast parts of the character:
The picture reveals what looks like a small, brightly lit set. According to Singer, he will be filming the character using an ultra-slow 3600 frames per second in order to provide an illusion of super-speed during normal speed. This is kind of like the reverse of those tricks they use in music videos, where they shoot artists lip-syncing and gyrating to a sped-up version of a song, so that when played in normal speed it looks like they’re singing and dancing in slow-motion to a song playing in normal tempo.
