James Bond’s latest big screen vehicle has joined the ranks of some of the highest grossing films ever made as it recently managed to exceed the $1 billion mark for total cume at the worldwide box office. In the UK, it has already become the highest grossing film ever with a total take of £100M.
Skyfall’s box office numbers is very impressive, considering that it almost never happened due to MGM’s financial problems. The studio stopped being in trouble once Skyfall got out of the door last November 2012, though, as the movie managed to make $500m at the worldwide box office, which now looks paltry given its current haul.
The Daniel Craig-starrer now sits among 14 other films that have passed the $1bn mark, such as the Avengers, Avatar, Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 2 and The Dark Knight Rises, all of which premiered within the last couple of years.
