Man of Steel may have beaten Prometheus when it comes to polarizing both fans and critics, but its impressive box office take cannot be denied, making a follow up movie an inevitability. However, it doesn’t necessarily need to be a sequel. Warner can instead focus on Planet Krypton, and Superman’s biological parents.
The prospect of a prequel focusing on Jor-El’s exploits in Krypton seems to be something that actor Russell Crowe gets asked a lot about, as he recently posted a Tweet explaining that he wouldn’t be averse to the idea:
“A lot of you are asking about a KRYPTON prequel,” said Crowe on the social networking site. “If that’s something you feel strongly about let @Legendary pictures know your thoughts.”
A prequel movie seems like a good idea if we’re banking on Warner Bros. wanting a follow-up movie so soon, as it will give them something to continue the franchise while they are still busy setting up the Justice League movie.
