Yesterday morning, news circulated all over social media that Fast and Furious star Paul Walker was killed in a car accident in California, while riding on the passenger’s seat in a sports car who was driven by his friend. Walker’s friend has also died in the crash.
While the news was initially suspected of being a hoax, as it first surfaced on social media (which is known for fake news about celebrities’ deaths), Walker’s official Facebook page confirmed the news in a statement that read:
“It is with a truly heavy heart that we must confirm that Paul Walker passed away today in a tragic car accident while attending a charity event for his organisation Reach Out Worldwide. He was a passenger in a friend’s car, in which both lost their lives. We… are stunned and saddened beyond belief by this news.”
Fast and Furious Co-star Vin Diesel also provided a confirmation via a heartfelt message on Instagram:
“Brother I will miss you very much. I am absolutely speechless. Heaven has gained a new Angel. Rest in Peace.”
