While Prometheus didn’t satisfy every single fan of the Aliens franchise (in fact, it actually split them up between people who felt that it was a good Sci Fi film and people who felt that it just cashed in on the Aliens franchise), it still performed decently on the box office and its ending left plenty of room for a sequel, so it’s not surprising that there’s a sequel in the works.
The news about the Prometheus sequel was revealed by lead star Noomi Rapace, when she let it slip that she is currently in talks with director Ridley Scott over a potential return.
“They’re working on the script,” confirms Rapace. “I met Ridley in London a couple of weeks ago. I would love to work with him again and I know that he would like to do another one. It’s just like we need to find the right story. I hope we will.
“Most people I’ve talked to who see the movie, see things that are quite different,” continues the star. “There are all these religious aspects and there are very interesting conversations. If we do a second one, there are a lot of things to explore in there and to continue. I would love to do it.”
