DreamWorks has just cast a highly unexpected, but welcome face in their big screen adaptation of Electronic Arts’ iconic car racing videogame, Need for Speed. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Michael Keaton has just signed on to join the cast.
DreamWorks’ Need for Speed will focus on Aaron Paul’s aspiring street racer, who is being backed by the wealthy character, played by Dominic Cooper. Unfortunately, the street racer is framed and ultimately landed in prison.
After spending some time behind bars, the protagonist joins a New York to Los Angeles road race in order to get even. However, the antagonist learns of his plan and takes out a massive bounty on his head.
According to THR’s report, Keaton will play a “reclusive and eccentric host of an underground supercar race where he invites the best drivers from around the world”.
