Michael Fassbender to Play a Rockstar in Frank

Current hollywood It Boy Michael Fassbender is expected to play the frontman of a pop band in the musical comedy Frank, which was developed by Film4. Frank is the newest addition to Fassbender’s already impressive (and padded) 2012 resume, which includes 12 Years A Slave, The Counselor, Jane Got A Gun and First Class sequel X-Men: Days Of Future Past.

Domhnall Gleeson will also star in the movie as a naïve musician who joins the band. The son of Brendan, Gleeson played a Weasley in the Harry Potter franchise, but has since been making a name for himself in other projects, two of which (Dredd and Anna Karenina) will be out this week.

The official synopsis for Frank:

“Frank is a comedy about a young wannabe musician, Jon (Gleeson), who discovers he’s bitten off more than he can chew when he joins an eccentric pop band led by the mysterious and enigmatic Frank (Fassbender).”
