A new adaptation of Shakespeare’s Macbeth will be making its way to theaters soon, and according to Screen Daily, the title role will be played by none other than Michael Fassbender.
In what seems to be a strange coincidence, Michael Fassbender’s X-Men co-star James McAvoy is also playing the titular Scottish King brought to ruins by his murderous misdeeds on stage in London’s West End.
Since Macbeth is known to be Shakespeare’s bloodiest yarn, Fassbender will have the advantage over McAvoy in the sense that you can only do so much on stage, while film will let Fassbender and co. portray the crimson excesses in its entirety.
There’s still no word on when the filming will start, and considering the fact that Fassbender’s schedule is jam-packed at the moment, we’re probably going to have to wait a little while.
