It was recently reported that Christopher Nolan is interested in casting Matthe McConaughey in his upcoming sci-fi film Interstellar, and now McConaughey himself has come out and confirmed his role.
According to Deadline.com, the actor has officially confirmed that he has signed on the dotted line, and that he will indeed be playing the role of Cooper. Unfortunately, that’s the only piece of information that has been given. No other details were revealed, which is not that surprising as Interstellar is a Nolan project. And Nolan likes to keep his secrets until the last minute.
Interstellar is said to be based upon the scientific theories of relativity expert Kip S. Thorne, namely the theory that wormholes do exist, and they hold the key to time travel. The script was penned by Jonah Nolan, and will follow a scientific exploration into space where the wormhole theory will be put to the test.
