Joss Whedon has already dismissed the rumors about the next Marvel films setting up a Planet Hulk storyline, and it what may seem like another blow to fans of the green behemoth, Mark Ruffalo himself has come out and revealed that there’s no movie plans for the Hulk at the moment.
“A lot of folks have been asking about the next Hulk,” said Ruffalo via Twitter. “The next time you see my Hulk it will be in The Avengers 2. No plans for stand alone.”
Before anybody dismisses Ruffalo as just “the actor who plays the Hulk,” and not privy to Marvel’s plans, it should be noted that he is currently locked under contract and has to portray the jolly green giant in the movies until said contract expires, so if there are plans, he will be notified. Not that Ruffalo isn’t interested:
“I am not giving up on another stand alone Hulk,” he continues. “But it’s not in the works right now. One never knows what the future will bring.”
