It seems that production has already started on The Amazing Spider-Man 2, as Marc Webb himself has tweeted a behind-the-scenes image in order to prove it. There’s nothing special about the image, though. There’s no Andrew Garfield in a new Spidey-suit nor a Jamie Foxx in Electro-duds in the shot.
The image is just Webb focusing on “Phil the camera operator.” What’s really noteworthy about the shot is that it implies that the sequel will be shot on film instead of digital 3D. The first movie used Red Epic 3D cameras, which helped a lot in adding depth to the acrobatic action. Right now, it’s not clear if the sequel will use post-conversion, or if it’s going to use the camera pictured for most of the shoot.
Either way, at least we’re getting confirmation that the sequel is already underway. We’re also expecting Webb to tweet more photos and inside info in the coming months.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 opens in the UK on 18 April 2014.
