A new poster for Zack Snyder’s big-screen Superman reboot has been revealed at this year’s Comic Con, and it seems to be a moody affair due to the extensive use of shadows, effectively covering much of Henry Cavill’s face, with just enough light to reveal the trademark S-Shield.
A close up inspection of the poster reveals that the new Superman costume has much more texture than previous superman threads, giving it some kind of a chainmail look. The poster also seems to be consistent with what the studios are promising, namely that the reboot will have a darker, grittier take than the previous movie (which we have trouble accepting, because a superman that impregnates earth women and then leaves behind super powered asthmatic bastards already seems very dark to us).
Those who are desperate to see something actually concrete regarding Man of Steel should watch the premiere of The Dark Knight Rises on July 20, 2012, since a teaser for Man of Steel will also be showing on that date. The actual Man Of Steel movie opens on 14 June 2013.
