Kevin Feige Discusses Differences Between Fox and Marvel’s Quicksilver 0

With the way every title in the Marvel comic book universe is interconnected, it was only a matter of time before we see an overlap with Disney/Marvel and Fox’s respective comic book movie franchises, as both the X-Men and the Avengers have intertwining histories, particularly with the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, who are both been members of the Avengers and Magneto’s brotherhood of evil mutants (not to mention being the offspring of the master of magnetisim.)

Marvel’s Kevin Feige is aware of this conflict, but he has recently gone out of his way to assure that Marvel and Fox’s respective versions of the characters, particularly Quicksilver, will be very different:

“There are only a handful of characters that occupy that middle ground,” says Feige. “Iron Man is not going to show up over there and Magneto is not going to show up over here.”

“But there are a few grey points even after many years of negotiations… and that only happens with a character like Quicksilver, who has been a part of the X-Men, the son of Magneto in those comics, but also a primary Avenger.”

“The characters [on the screen] are going to be very different,” continues Feige. “Other than their powers, general audiences might not even know that the two are related.”
