The sequel to the big screen adaptation of World War Z has just appointed a new director that will replace the outgoing Marc Foster, and it’s going to be a name that’s familiar to horror fans, The Orphanage’s Juan Antonio Bayona.

The sequel is still in its early stages, so when Bayona steps in, he’s going to have a huge presence on the project from the ground up. There’s still no writers working on it, but Brad Pitt has already confirmed that he will come back as a producer, and that he’s already got ideas on where the sequel will go. Bayona will also have a hand in overseeing the writing process, and it’s likely that he’s going to have a little bit of input as well.
