It’s no longer just a rumor. Jim Carrey has officially been confirmed for the role of Colonel Stars in the upcoming sequel to the hit comic-book movie. The initial hints were made by director Jeff Wadlow, but Deadline.com is now reporting that the veteran actor/comedian is locked for the role.
Kick-Ass creator Mark Millar himself commented on Carrey’s appointment, saying that he’s happy that Wadlow has successfully bagged his man.
“Matthew Vaughn, Jeff Wadlow and I did a conference call with Jim a couple of weeks back,” said Millar, “and we’ve been itching to talk about this ever since because the energy Jim’s going to bring to Colonel Stars has me buzzing as much as Nic Cage with Big Daddy.”
“We didn’t quite know what Jim was going to be doing in the sequel,” he continued, “but the entire team loves him to bits and I’ve been a fan since I first saw him.”
