Marvel has been busy poring over lists of actors who can bring Star-Lord to life in the big screen, with top choices ranging from Jim Sturgess to John Krasinski. Many fans consider the top two choices to be a good fit but as for other roles that need filling, the list includes two very odd choices.
According to a recent Latino Review report, Marvel is currently looking into the availability of both Adam Sandler and Jim Carrey. It’s true that Guardians of the Galaxy has a number of comedic characters (such as the giant tree Groot and the talking raccoon Rocket Raccoon), but the names seem odd as the two actors’ names may be too big to overshadow the roles that they are going to play. Still, stranger things have happened before. Robert Downey Jr. wasn’t exactly a C-lister when he managed to make the Tony Stark role his own, nor was Christian Bale when he donned the cape (Samuel L. Jackson’s case doesn’t count, as the Ultimates’ version of Nick Fury was specifically modeled after him).
