It seems like Jamie Foxx’s appearance as the villain Electro in the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man 2 has left him wanting another go around in a comic book-based movie, but this time around he wants to be on the other side of the fence. According to a Movies.com report, the actor has his eye on a remake of Spawn, which last saw a big screen outing in 1997.
“Spawn is one, yeah,” said Foxx, when asked whether he had any personal projects he is trying to bring to fruition. “And Mike Tyson. Those are two roles I would just love to do. I’m aggressively pursuing them.”
The first movie adaptation of the Image comic book bombed, despite featuring notable names like Martin Sheen, Michael Jai White, and John Leguizamo and in spite of having a fairly decent and more accessible version of the comic book’s story. Of course, it can be blamed on the movie being released before the comic book adaptation boom, as well as the fact that Spawn wasn’t as popular to non-comic book fans as, say, Spider-Man or Batman.
