Whether you love or hate the climax of Man of Steel (particularly *that* last act from Superman), it made big money at the box office, which is what the powers that be at Warner are using as the deciding factor on whether to push through with a Justice League movie or not.
However, before you start wearing your cape and your party cowl, Man of Steel star Henry Cavill has speculated that a Justice League movie will take a long time to properly set up, and is hoping that it won’t be rushed into production just to take advantage of Man of Steel’s momentum.
“Justice League could be great if done correctly,” says Cavill. “It’s a very tough one to do because the DC comic heroes are all god-like in their power.”
“So in this real-world universe, real-world setting we’re telling our story in, it’s going to be tough to achieve that. It has to be done very delicately with a lot of thought.”
“So, it won’t be right away. I hope it’s not, anyway. It may take some time of building up other movies and other characters and introducing them together in one way or another.”
As much as we want a Justice League movie, we have to admit that Cavill has a point. And we hope that the folks at Warner Bros. are listening to their Superman. It’s not like they haven’t learned their lesson with Green Lantern yet.
