Mightygeek (and hundreds of other entertainment websites) has already covered the news about Warner’s planned adaptation of Fantastical Beasts And Where To Find Them, but it seems like it’s not the only Harry Potter spin-off that the studio is planning, as Bleeding Cool has just reported that the studio is currently shopping around and snagging Potter-related trademarks, including J.K. Rowling’s book on the fictional sport of Quidditch.
It is said that Rowling also sold an annotated copy of The Philosophers’ Stone, win which she reveals how she came out with the sport:
“It was invented in a small hotel in Manchester after a row with my then boyfriend,” she wrote. “I had been pondering the things that hold a society together, cause it to congregate and signify its particular character and knew I needed a sport.
“It infuriates men… which is quite satisfying given my state of mind when I invented it.”
