Guillermo del Toro has recently taken time out of his very busy schedule in order to give an update of his script for Justice League Dark and its status at Warner Bros, during the Los Angeles Times Hero Complex Festival.
For the uninitiated, Justice League Dark features some of DC Comics’ more strange and supernatural-oriented heroes forming a group, serving as a counterpoint to the traditional spandex-clad heroics provided by the Justice League.
Del Toro has revealed that Justice League Dark will include Constantine, The Swamp Thing, Madame Xanadu, Deadman and Zantanna as the main team, with a clutch of other characters (“everybody that doesn’t feel like a repeat”) also set to pop up.
It should be worth noting that Warner Bros. has not yet given del Toro the green light, with the director himself admitting that he’ll only do the film if they like the script. It is posited by many that the status of any future DC film will hinge on the box office performance of Man of Steel, so let’s keep our fingers crossed and watch Man of Steel (not that we aren’t going to do that anyway).
