According to a recent Heat Vision report, Fox has just signed a deal with Hasbro, which opens up doors to a big screen adaptation of the popular card game and novel franchise Magic: The Gathering. The news is certainly timely as the franchise is getting ready to celebrate its 20th year.
Fox is eyeing Simon Kinberg to helm the development of the movie franchise, with supposed plans to build a movie universe that will be home to several films, similar to what Disney is doing with the Marvel properties. Kinberg is also set to produce the films.
Of course, there’s already been news of a World of Warcraft film helmed by Duncan Jones, so it looks like fantasy fans will have their hands full in the near future.
