Gareth Edwards’ upcoming reboot of Godzilla has just cast a couple of new talent to its swelling cast list. According to the Hollywood Reporter, both Elizabeth Olsen and Bryan Cranston are currently in talks to join the project.
Should Olsen and Cranston sign up, they will join Aaron Taylor-Johnson in the main cast list, while the movie itself is waiting for a rewrite of the script, which is currently being done by Frank Darabont.
The details about the plot is sparse right now, with the only info released being the fact that it’s going to be a return to the roots of the series, with Godzilla being described as a “terrifying force of nature,” instead of the national mascot that he turned into in the later films. Additionally, the film is said to contain “plenty of monsters,” which will be interesting if we get a giant monster vs. giant monster showdown.
Godzilla will open in the UK on 16 May 2014.
