Disney is finally starting to flesh out plans for the Star Wars franchise, with the house of mouse planning a new big screen iteration every year, starting on 2015. The announcement was made at the recent CinemaCon festival, along with the explanation that the films will be alternating annually between the main sequence of “Episodes” and a series of standalone movies or spin-offs.
There’s still no confirmation as to which characters will eventually get their own movie treatments, with many fans speculating that it will be Yoda, Bobba Fett, or Han solo. The only confirmed movie right now is I.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: Episode VII, which is slated to open in 2015.
