Disney Now Owns Indiana Jones’ Movie Rights 0

It seems that Disney isn’t slowing down in their campaign for fan favorite franchises, as they have just announced their acquisition of the Indiana Jones series, which was previously owned by rival studio Paramount.

Paramount has always had the rights to the Indiana Jones movies ever since it first financed Raiders of the Lost Ark back in 1981, which became so successful that it spawned three more installments in the franchise.

The new deal gives the house of mouse distribution and marketing rights to future Indy films, which is added to its current ownership rights (which was acquired when the studio purchased LucasFilm.)
