New details concerning Dawn of the Planet of the Apes have surfaced, mainly one casting Zero Dark Thirty star Jason Clarke in an as yet unspecified role. The plot of the movie will be focusing on a group of human scientists trying to survive in a future version of San Francisco, so we’re guessing he’s gonna play one of the errant scientists.
According to Heat Vision, the sequel will pick up 15 years after the events in the first film, which ended with the ape-carried flu spreading across the globe. Andy Serkis will be returning as the lead ape Ceasar, who has probably mastered the English language by now. James Franco is not set to return.
Directed by Matt Reeves based on a script written by Mark Bomback, Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes will open in the UK on 23 May 2014.
