Harry Potter producer David Heyman has recently taken time out of his busy schedule in order to talk about the announcement regarding Warner’s upcoming Harry Potter spin-off, Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, describing the project as “very, very special.”
“I can’t talk really about it yet,” said Heyman, a stalwart of the Potter film series. “All I can say is that it’s great. Jo had no need to go back to this universe or world.
“It’s not Harry Potter per se, but the world of Harry. She’s chosen to do so because she felt a need to tell a story. That she’s doing it means that it’s going to be very, very special.”
Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, which is penned by Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling herself, will be an adaptation of the fictional textbook used by Harry and his classmates in their Care Of Magical Creatures lessons. The film itself will focus on the adventures of the textbook’s author, Newt Scamander, and will be set 70 years before the events of the Philosopher’s Stone.
