X-Men director/producer Bryan Singer has recently confirmed during an interview with IGN.com that the title for the upcoming X-Men: First Class sequel will indeed be X-Men: Days of Future Past. The director stated that the film is currently being written and will start shooting in a few months, and that it’s going to be very ambitious in scope.
“It’s called Days Of Future Past and it deals with aspects of that comic but also some very new things. I just don’t want to give any of it away. Matthew Vaughn will be directing and I’m totally excited about it.”
According to speculations, Vaugn will only be using the Days of Future Past comicbook storyline as a basis, instead of making a complete adaptation, which is understandable since the comicbook version relies on a heavy continuity that the films have yet to establish.
X-Men: Days Of Future Past opens on 17 July 2014.
