The sequel to X-Men: First Class, Days of Future Past, continues to add more names (albeit some of them only appearing in cameo roles) to its already impressive cast list. Bryan Singer himself has taken to Twitter to announce the latest addition, Halle Berry.
“Couldn’t be more excited that #HalleBerry has joined the cast of #XMen #DaysofFuturePast” said Singer in his Twitter. “Hopefully she can improve the weather in Montreal.”
Halle Berry will be reprising her role as the mutant who can control the forces of nature, Storm, as part of the film’s time-bending storyline, which focuses on the X-Men as they are warned of a future threat that will see all mutants imprisoned in concentration camps.
The film’s story, like the comic book arc it was based on, will alternate between the present and the future, which will allow older or alternate reality versions of the X-Men to appear alongside their younger counterparts, which explains all the old faces being asked to reprise their roles.
Directed by Singer and co-starring James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence, X-Men: Days Of Future Past will open in the UK on 18 July 2014.
