Alex Winter Talks About Bill & Ted 3 0

Bill and Ted 3 is one of those projects that seemed like a good idea to its fans, but failed to materialize as fast as one would expect/want. It didn’t encounter the same kind of trouble as Ghostbusters 3, mind you, but it the lack of updates on its status makes it understandable if people thought the project has been shelved. However, star Alex Winter has recently came out to explain the slow progress and the challenges posed by the project:

“The thing we had going against us is that word got out,” says Winter. “That was kind of a bummer. It just takes a long time to put a movie together… I just feel bad [the fans] have to get dragged through this long, boring, protracted process.”

Regarding the subject of the film, Winter says, “it’s all about Bill and Ted grown up, or not grown up. It’s really sweet and really fucking funny. But it’s a Bill & Ted movie… it fits very neatly in the [series]. It’s not going to feel like a reboot.”

Winter also revealed where they are right now with the project: “The script’s been finished for a while, but comedy is so specific,” says Winter. “We’re in that world where producers are on, financiers are on and we’re just working and reworking the script.”
