The live action Super Mario Bros movie is easily one of the most maligned videogame movies to date, ranking even lower on people’s lists than Van Damme’s Street Fighter. However, the truth is that it’s actually a decent movie if you strip away all the attempts to tie it into the Super Mario Bros franchise, and a special midnight screening held last Friday at the Nuart Theatre in Los Angeles will hopefully remind people of that.
One of the key highlights of the screening was a special message from actor/comedian John Leguizamo, who played Luigi in the movie. Regardless of your feelings on the movie, it is nice to hear Leguizamo share both the good and bad memories he has of the film’s creation. You can check out the message below:
