Konami has recently announced that they will be bringing one of the most celebrated follow-ups to the run-and-gun classic Contra, 1992’s Contra III: The Alien Wars, to the Wii U Virtual Console in Japan. It will retail for ¥800 ($8) on the eShop and is slated for a November 27 release.
Contra III: The Alien Wars is notable for the huge jump in aesthetics, owing to the fact that it was released on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System instead of the NES like the original. It is also more difficult than its predecessor, particularly because the Konami Code (up up down down left right left right a b a b select start!) is not available.
