At the recent Street Fighter 25th Anniversary Grand Finals event, Capcom has announced that they are planning to make a fan project official by releasing Street Fighter x Mega Man for the PC.
As the title implies, the Street Fighter x Mega Man pits both Capcom franchises against one another, as a parody of Street Fighter x Tekken (which pits Capcom’s Street Fighter characters with ones from Namco’s Tekken franchise). Street Fighter x Mega Man uses NES style pixel graphics, making for one very cute fan game.
Now, instead of a 1 on 1 fighting game, Street Fighter x Mega Man will be your usual Mega Man action platformer, but instead of fighting rogue robots and Dr. Wily, he’s going to be facing off guys like Ryu, Dhalsim, Blanka, and others as stage bosses.
The fan game was originally made by Singaporean programmer Seow Zong Hui, AKA Sonic, with Capcom providing direction and support. Street Fighter x Mega Man will be released as a free PC download starting on December 17.
