Last week, there’s been a promotional image going around for the supposedly-upcoming Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3X, which promises 8 new characters as well as balance tweaks to the improvements and additions brought by last November’s Ultimate upgrade.
Rumors have said that UMvC3X will be released as DLC on the 3rd of July, for $14.99, and as a packaged disc on the 24th of the same month, for the whopping price of $39.99 (similar to the pricing scheme of Capcom’s Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition).
Unfortunately, Capcom has all but confirmed the image to be fake. According to VP Christian Svennson:
“Just got back from GDC so I’ll make this short: that is completely fake.”
Capcom’s Community Manager Seth Killian also added:
“Sorry guys, <3 photoshop, but no UMVC3x coming from Capcom."
Marvel vs. Capcom 3 producer Ryota Niitsuma also confirmed that there is no upcoming DLC planned:
“The DLC costumes are out, and for now that is all.”
